Being broken doesn’t make you isolated. Being broken doesn’t make you incapable of being amazing. Being broken doesn’t make you unworthy. Being broken means you have gone through some heavy stuff of some sort and you are still here. That statement alone means you haven’t given up and you are more amazing than you probably realize.
Broken Glass If two glass bottles are dropped onto the concrete floor, they will both shatter. They will be broken. But, stop and think about the pieces. They are not the same. They could be jagged, with edges, and dangerous to get close to or fragmented into small pieces that become weak, defenseless, and easily moved and manipulated.
The same catastrophic event that destroys those bottles also reshapes them into something independent and new. Just like the same events that can affect all of us can shape us each differently.
Reconstruction Whether the pieces are large or small, you cannot reassemble them to their former state. Reassembled they will be something new: resembling what they were, but still different in look, feel, strength, texture, and purpose.
Resolution So, you, broken soul, ask yourself this: How have you been broken?
- Are you shattered pieces with a rough hard dangerous edge, like myself?
- Or are you crushed, softened, and feel swept aside?
How will you be put back together, because as you read this, you apparently haven’t given up. So, will you become something new and beautiful or are just willing to be tossed aside and discarded?
